Art Classes

Art classes have gone from being grim as you like to absolutely amazing. We have the best turn out of all the classes, it feels incredible. We're currently in the process of turning the community centre into a jungle, and last lesson we made salt dough with them. It's so good to actually be doing something productive. I love my life.

Scabby Eye Dog and Jungle Cat

My homies, they come and hang with us at work.

Feliz Cumpleaños Andrea

My little sisters 6th birthday. Awesome party. Lots of cake. Lots of Shakira on repeat - lots. I'm overly attached to this child, I love her and plan on taking her home. I've bought another holdall in preparation.

My favourite photo in the world ever - the aftermath of Natalia getting her face smashed into a cake. Priceless.

Peru - where the elderly dance in the street.

If this doesn't warm the cockles of your heart

then it's safe to say you have no soul.

Fairytale

I lost myself in the wood. It was glorious.

Huascaran

Pretty little lake that lives way up in yonder hills, at the foot of Huascaran (highest mountain in all of that there Peru). Bluest water I ever did see.

LLAMA!

It took 5 weeks to find a llama, but when we did it had baubles on it. Fantastic news.

Yungay

Town that was completely covered by an avalanche in 1970.

Remains of a bus.

Memorial and cemetery.

I Wish I Dressed Like This..

Remember that time we accidentally crashed a Peruvian wedding..

Hot Springs

We didn't have time to trek to the larger natural springs so the tour organiser took us to an alternative spring early on Saturday morning.

Yes. That water is brown. We were apprehensinve to say the least.

Huaraz

Some of us ventured to the highlands on our first long weekend, this post is a bit delayed as the photo uploading process is somewhat limited in the desert, but better late than never.
Lots of mountains. People wear big leather hats and jazzy skirts. You can buy a bag of live guinea pigs, should it tickle your fancy.

Cocks

Tethered outside, training them to fight.

We Play Volleyball. A Lot.

Trinket Tree

Best Present Ever

Dino didn't like his shoes, so I made them better with cats and cat-trapping equipment.

We Eat Guinea Pigs.

Complete with claws and everything, these people are crazy.

Pachacutec By Night

Chief-tastic

Some of the group spent the weekend in Lima. All the cool kids however, had a wild saturday night at the chief's casa for his son's birthday. Feliz cumpleaños Stefano.

Remember that time we went up a mountain...

Everyone wants a piece of the art geeks. BOOM.

Poster making session for our workshops (I'm on arts and crafts - shock), which start next week.
Some of my remedial friends tried to whip up a sports poster. Don´t judge them by their efforts please.

Pachacutec Massive

I´m very rarely lost for words, but the drive to Pachacutec hit me like a sledgehammer to the face. 5 milllion people live like this in Lima alone. Sounds like a pretty big number, believe me you have no idea.

My homestay family are awesome. Due to my limited (non-existant) spanish I have learnt very little about them but they humor our remidial language skills and feed us well, so I love them. Had my first bucket wash this morning.. not too shabby.
